Heartland Film Festival Receives Help with IT Infrastructure
The Challenge
The Heartland Film Festival was founded in 1991 "to recognize and honor filmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life." The HFF holds a week long film festival in Indianapolis each October that enables independent films to reach the public that ight otherwise go unseen. the festival awards the best of these films with funds provided by the Max Simon Charitable Foundation. HFF encourages independent filmakers to continue their omportant contributions to the cultural landscape.
For an organization like the Hearland Film Festival to run smoothly, all aspects of its technology infrastructure must work together. Unfortunately, the HFF was having difficulty streamlining it's technology. It needed to find an outside source for their IT needs. According to Hearland staff member Kristi Kissick, the HFF needed help with "anything that was not extremely easy." As the HFF weighed their tech support options, they ran into a problem that plagues many nonprofit organization; tech services are expensive.
The Solution
The HFF explored a number of options in their search for an outside tech support source. According to Kissick, they ultimately realized that "because we were a nonprofit, we were able to look at NPower."
